Mission Statement & Policies
The mission of Guadalupe Montessori School is
to foster independent, enthusiastic learners by creating a stimulating
environment that incorporates Montessori education methods and
values, providing a framework for the development of the whole
child to families from all cultural, religious and socio-economic
backgrounds.
Organizational Structure
GMS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. The
Board of GMS holds the fiduciary responsibility of the school and
governs policy and procedures. The School Director administrates
the school's policies, manages the staff and defines the school's
programs. The faculty and staff implement the school's programs
directly with students and parents. The parent body is an integral
part of the school community, from communication with staff, to
volunteering time, to fulfilling work hours for the school's operations
as part of their contract with the school.
Organizational Philosophy
At GMS, education strives to foster a life-long
love of learning and encourages students to excel by providing
the guidance and the freedom to develop current interests and
discover new ideas. A high value is placed on academic excellence,
diversity, and social responsibility. It is important that the
program be flexible in addressing each child's developmental
stage and learning style, and in promoting independence and self-confidence.
It is the stated policy of GMS to: maintain AMI
accreditation and uphold AMI Montessori principles; maintain a
safe, stimulating and pleasing environment for all associated with
the GMS community; provide for ongoing staff development; educate
the community about the school and Montessori education; and to
promote interaction with the community through service and educational
events.
Non-Discrimination Policy
Guadalupe Montessori School does not discriminate
on the basis of race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin
in educational policies, hiring practices, or any school-administered
programs.
