The Community Garden
The Garden Program
Martha Egnal heads up the Community Garden Program. She is
ready to share her excitement about organic gardening with
our GMS
kids
in
this
new program.
Working
in
the school's
community organic garden and those new ones created by the
students, our kids will learn about soil preparation, planting,
watering, and of course harvesting and eating. Can you dig
it? We will use the barn near the garden as the Organic Classroom.
This is going to be a very special program that you will be
hearing about for a long time to come.
About Martha
Martha Egnal helps organize the
community garden and has lived in Silver City for six
years. She holds a teaching certificate from Brown
University, has taught music at a local school and
has also taught gardening classes during the regular
and the summer program at GMS. For the past two years
she has been the GMS Meal Supervisor.
Martha has a daughter in the Primary classroom and
another one will soon be in our Toddler program.
